I paint in the unique medium of encaustic, creating textural art pieces which incorporate representational form
with the printed word. In essence, the visual and written
symbols merge to create a unique aesthetic language that is
both provocative and whimsical. My multiple-image pieces, with images ranging from polka dots to popular culture, evoke emotions and memories in the viewer. The combination of images tells a story and provokes a personal exchange
between the art and the audience

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Friends, I've made prints of it so you can be as  HAPPY as Ross & Rachel and have cool art like them.

"Upstate Gallery on Main, sponsored by the University of South Carolina Upstate, is pleased to announce “POP,” recent paintings in encaustic by Jeff Schaller. The exhibition opens on Sept. 3 and runs through Nov. 2. An artist reception will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19,
during Spartanburg ArtWalk.

“I have know Jeff Schaller for almost 10 years and enjoy his technique of encaustic painting to render highly graphic inages from pop culture,” Nodine said. “I am pleased to have Jeff exhibit with Upstate Gallery on Main and I believe our students and the community will enjoy the
images and his sense of humor in the work.”
