Head Shots Title

Schaller captures the fun and flirtatious trend of posting pictures on the internet. He explores the current culture of a generation where everyone has the possibility of being seen and being famous. Schaller's previous use of lost and found images has brought his search for new material to the internet. Finding various pictures on myspace.com and flickr.com he has painted what many people casually place on the internet to share with family or friends. There is always that hint of "look at me" within these pictures. Voyeurism and anonymity are captured by tightly cropping many of the figures. Flirting with the viewer, the images are patchworks of skin, fabric and hair. Then juxtaposing some times relevant words and images he creates something more then a figurative painting.
